🎉 Introducing: Delightfully Friday Junior at Flagrant

AKA: Educational Bamboozlement in Action

What’s Delightfully Friday Junior, you ask?

It’s our new, every-other-Thursday event here at Flagrant—a little experimental, a little silly, and surprisingly educational. Think: doing something fun and lighthearted, only to realize later… oh wait, I actually learned something.

We Call That: Educational Bamboozlement™

It’s when you think you’re just goofing off, but somehow, your brain picks up a new skill, a new insight, or a fresh perspective without you even realizing it. Like hiding vegetables in pasta sauce—except the vegetables are knowledge.

Why We’re Doing This

Working remotely has its perks, but it also creates distance—literal and metaphorical. It can be hard to see into the worlds of the people we work with beyond the confines of a Zoom screen. What do they care about? What excites them? What’s on their camera roll that I’d never otherwise see?

So we launched Delightfully Friday Junior as a way to bridge that gap. To remember that our teammates are more than collaborators—they’re curious, creative people with all kinds of hidden talents and interests.

Episode 1: Show and Tell (Yes, Like Elementary School)

For our inaugural session, we started with something simple and familiar: Show and Tell. It’s an easy “in” for everyone, no prep required—just bring something you want to share. Maybe a photo, a drawing, a memory, or a completely random object that makes you happy.

But here’s the twist: we used FigJam to do it. So not only did we get to peek into each other’s lives, but we also got hands-on time with a design tool. Sneaky, right? (Educational Bamboozlement strikes again.)

What We’re Hoping For

Over time, Delightfully Friday Junior will become more than just a recurring event. It’s a chance to:

  • Flex our creativity in low-stakes, fun ways
  • Learn by doing—whether it’s using new tools, hosting an activity, or writing a blog post like this one
  • Empathize and connect with each other more deeply
  • Pull back the curtain and share a bit of our culture with the world
  • Share the load of invisible work—making creativity and connection a shared responsibility
  • (Secret goal: Get rid of the whole “I’m not an artist” mindset. We’re all artists in the right context.)

Why This Matters

In a world of task lists, timelines, and deliverables, it’s easy to get stuck in your lane. But creativity isn’t just a job skill—it’s a life skill. And sometimes, the best ideas come when you’re doing something you think has nothing to do with work.

We hope this becomes a small but mighty part of our culture at Flagrant—a place where you can try something new, be a little weird, maybe fail, but learn something along the way.

Because really, what better way to spend a Thursday than getting a little closer to Friday… and a little closer to each other?
