What we did:

  • Refining a logo that the client suggested for their application
  • Designing a way to communicate a phone or email’s validity and stats based on usage within a communication system.
  • Got lost in complex queries and logic
  • Mentoring a local artist/entrepreneur through Doyenne Group
  • Created compliance sheets for multiple disciplines for Training Tracker to distribute
  • Week 2 of Rails Book Club: Agile Web Development with Rails 8
  • Designed a t-shirt, splash page, and home page for Rocky Mountain Ruby
  • Set up a “Value Message Matrix” for viewing / editing by admins
  • Made optional “magic links” as a login choice
  • Handed over sign designs for RailsConf Philadelphia for a first round of review
  • Extracted data from a Microsoft Access DB and imported to PostgreSQL for ETL
  • Helping a client answer a Cyber Risk Assessment to integrate with Oracle
  • User tested a new client product that is pilot launching in the beginning of May
  • Prepared low fidelity designs of a new user flow with a list of questions to help determine requirements with a client
  • Met with a client’s dev team to discuss how best to support dynamic type sizing based on content length

What we’re struggling with:

  • Blog posts
  • Waiting for a baby to roll over
  • Waiting for a crown to be replaced
  • Walking up large rock hills
  • Crochet gauge
  • Teenagers
  • Cat finding the only carpeting in the room to puke on
  • Pollen
  • Designing the stage and event space for Madison Reading Project’s: Read(y) to Wear event. Prototyping things for the staff to do while I am not there.
  • Growing out my hairs (the urge to chop is so real)
  • Jazz Dads taking over my neighborhood—kinda fun but it’s also a lot

  • Sister found a rare fungi in her microbiology course
  • Finn’s blood work came back normal (good sign because he started a new chemo medication)
  • Got to take the motorcycle out for the first time this year
  • A friend’s 50th birthday and the arrival of their siblings & best friend from Sicily (who speak zero English)
  • Finding cool rocks
  • Fresh bread
  • Spring
  • Locomoting
